Project Management Institute has announced changes to the PMP exam, again! How are we supposed to keep up with this rapidly changing environment as project managers? Rather than thumbing through the PMBOK (boring!), we invite you to join the chapter as we present an engaging and interactive presentation covering the most important updates. This presentation is designed to appeal to both the seasoned Project Management Professional (PMP) holder as well as individuals interested in sitting for the PMP exam. We will also briefly touch on the Certified Associate in Project Management (CAPM) updates taking effect this year that making sitting for your PMP even easier! In her role as the director of exam preparation for the PMI Heartland chapter, Marissa organizes classes to provide existing and potential chapter members the knowledge and confidence to prepare for the PMI exams. Coordinating and participating with volunteer instructors for the PMP and ACP exam prep classes twice yearly and helps keep her knowledge of the exam and PMI changes sharp. She enjoys being a part of the certification journey for project managers.
Marissa has worked as a project manager and program manager in the telecommunications industry for 15 years and is currently employed at NebraskaLink in Lincoln, NE. Marissa has managed culturally diverse teams, traveling overseas to design and provide corporate training, her key to success has been developing strong stakeholder relationships and process standards creation. She is UNO alumni, obtaining her BS in Business Administration in 2006, and has her PMP and PMI-ACP certifications, testing for both after participating in the chapter exam prep courses.
