Friends, Project Managers, Program Managers...lend me your ears!
Earn your PMP before testing standards change: If you (or a colleague you know of) have not yet earned your PMP certification but have the requisite experience, NOW is the time to take it! PMI releases the new 6th Edition of the PMBOK later this summer and is expected to close testing by the end of the year. When testing re-opens in early 2018, it will apply new 6th Edition standards. PMI Heartland offers one final CAPM/PMP Exam Preparation class on Monday evenings for 12 weeks from 14 Aug - 30 Oct 2017. At 1/3-1/4 of the price of most boot camps, PMI Heartland partners with VelociTeach to provide a more thorough and effective PMP preparation class than these more expensive boot camps offer. Registration is open - details at https://pmiheartland.org/index.php/event-detail-articles/546-fall-2017-pmp-capm-examination-preparation-class.

Invest in Omaha's future as a Mentor: PMI Heartland partners with Midland University (Hybrid MBA Program) this October-December in order to mentor students enrolled in the BUS 672 Global Business & Consulting Capstone Class. If mentorship is a calling, join us at the July monthly luncheon where Midland University's Andrew Sherwood will provide more information about this new opportunity. Additional details will be posted online shortly.
Mindset: these and other emerging opportunities are designed with an eye towards our chapter's mindset: "PMI Heartland is a professional volunteer organization. We operate to serve our members who serve in our community to deliver the value of project management." Please continue to enable us to invest in you in a manner that benefits our whole community!
