David Kipling, Sr. Manager Training Technology at Union Pacific Railroad
David has enjoyed a more than 25 year career as an instructional designer and instructional technologist, the last 13 of which have been with Union Pacific facilitating user adoption of systems.
He enjoys using video, interaction design and animation techniques in training interventions to help promote successful implementation of any kind of change.
David holds an undergraduate degree in MIS from UNO and graduate degrees in technology management from Creighton University.

Kim Hurst, Training Consultant / Performance and Leadership Coach at Best Care EAP
Kim Hurst is a training consultant with Best Care Employee Assistance Program. She became interested in training and development in college, when she discovered her true passion for being part of “building something better.” With interests in self-care, mental health awareness and creating mental health-friendly workplaces, Hurst is proud to be on a team that believes in meeting the needs of each client while making them feel valued throughout the process. “I feel like we are an important asset to many organizations and have a substantial influence on our community well-being as a whole,” she said.
She enjoys helping organizations navigate difficult situations while enhancing employee happiness at work and home. Her favorite moments in her career often come when someone tells her of the positive influence she’s had on them. “It doesn’t matter how big or small,” she said. “Being able to know that what I do matters and can make a difference to someone – that’s all I need to find purpose and keep doing what I do.”

Amber Sparano, Director of Project Management at Lozier
Amber Sparano leads the Project Management Office at Lozier. PMP certified, she’s been with the company for 20 years in a variety of Analyst and Project Management roles. She recently joined the PMI Heartland leadership team as VP of Membership.
Passionate about organization, Sparano enjoys seeing projects succeed based on timeline, scope and budget. She enjoys learning about projects throughout the organization and working with the individual teams to bring them success.
Sparano holds a Masters of Business Administration from Bellevue University and is currently pursuing a Doctorate of Business Administration.
